Tanzania Youth Aware Trust Fund (TAYOA) inaugurates AIDS Awareness Programme at Ubungo National bus station.

In an effort to distribute information about the AIDS pandemic to all parts of Tanzania, TAYOA opened an information center at Ubungo National bus station on March 9, 2001. Generously underwritten by the Embassy of Finland, the center will spread its awareness and prevention message through videos presented both in the station and on the entertainment systems of long-distance buses. Opening ceremonies were attended by Honourable Ambassador Ritva Jolkkonen of Finland, Dr. Nzige, Head of Prevention Unit - Ministry of Health, Mr. Mtenga, Secretary General of TABOA (an association of bus owners), and Mr. Mkama, Chairman of City Commission, as well as hundreds of bus patrons.
